So a while ago, I was watching The Incredibles , because... why do I need an excuse? The Incredibles is a fantastic movie. But anyways, as I was watching, I noticed a very familiar shape parked by the side of the road. “It can’t be”, I thought. But then I started seeing more of them. There were several hidden throughout the movie, and the more I saw them the more I couldn’t deny what I was seeing. There are multiple fourth-gen (1964-66) Ford Thunderbirds in The Incredibles.
That black car... You can even tell that those are 1964 hubcaps.
I went on the internet to see if anyone else noticed this, and it appears that at least one or two other people did, both of them here:
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
And that’s the only place on the whole internet I’ve found any mention of this. Which I find honestly a bit surprising, given that Pixar easter eggs are so popular. This has got to be the most obscure Pixar easter egg of all time.
In this t picture , you can just barely make out a green T-bird in the upper right-hand corner. I remember this scene from the movie, so even though the image is a wee bit difficult to make out , I can confirm that the green car is another T hunderbird.
I also found this screenshot from the movie where you can see a cream-colored T-bird swerving out of the way:
Also, is that a Chevelle?
And, last but not least, in the final scene of the movie, you see not one, but TWO fourth-gen Thunderbirds!!!
This is without a doubt my favorite Pixar easter egg of all time. Clearly, someone at Pixar was a car nut who took the time to sneak some of their favorite cars into the movie, and that’s awesome. The fact that I own a fourth-gen Thunderbird makes me like this even more. So next time you watch The Incredibles, be sure to keep an eye out for classic T-birds. I’m pretty sure there are more than just the ones I found.

Somebody who works in Pixar’s set dressing is a serious car person. Ratatouille in particular is a gold mine for oddball cars.

All the old Citroens are perfect in that movie.

I remember seeing a Citroen DS in that movie. I figured it was there to make the movie seem more authentically French.

There are DSs, 2CVs, H Vans, Sans-Permis, and more. They are there to make it seem more French but in a way only a car nerd would understand.

There are some
serious
car nerds at Pixar.
They have their own little car show, from time to time.
